The decision to narrow
Dr. Lee trained in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Korea University and spent his early career in a large aesthetic group, latterly as director of its surgical centre — the environment in which most Korean aesthetic surgeons build volume across the whole face and body.
He left it to do the opposite. SINSA L was founded as a small practice concentrated on the eye and under-eye region, with a schedule short enough that every case could be consulted, marked, operated and reviewed by the same person.
How he works
Every lower eyelid is assessed under magnification and in several gaze positions before a plan is made. Markings are taken with the patient seated, because gravity changes what needs correcting. Wherever the patient can be awake — ptosis correction, eyelid crease work, the final check in a fat repositioning — the result is judged against an open eye rather than an estimate. And where there is doubt between removing more and removing less, he removes less.
Teaching and professional work
Dr. Lee holds an adjunct clinical professorship in the department of plastic surgery at Korea University, is a full member of KSAPS and a member of IPRAS, is ECFMG certified having passed USMLE Step 3, and has undertaken plastic surgery training at MD Anderson Cancer Center in the United States.
